According to Samad, who has a Datuk title, he had covered a distance of 8km since this morning and had walked half of that distance barefooted.
This, he explained, was because he had lost his shoes during a tussle at KL Sentral earlier.
Samad was also shocked by the large turnout at the rally despite the police’s “intimidation tactics” over the last two weeks.
“I am shocked that around 50,000 people showed up,” he said, condemning the police for acting in a cruel and unprofessional manner against the protesters.
